Hello art enthusiasts and lovers of culture!
We’re thrilled to spotlight another talented contributor to our upcoming Ritual Artistic Encounters – the vibrant and passionate @bebay.vinil.
Having made the journey from Mexico to New Zealand, this artist has found a unique and captivating way to blend the vibrancy of Mexican culture with the nuances of Kiwi life. Every piece created by @bebay.vinil speaks volumes of this journey, drawing heavily upon the myriad of symbols, tales, and traditions that trace back to her Mexican lineage.
In her own words, she expresses her artistry as a “meaningful way to bridge the gap between two worlds.” Her goal? To not only hold on to the deep-seated connection she feels to her Mexican roots but also to share and celebrate this rich heritage with her new community in New Zealand.
Since moving to New Zealand, I’ve actively sought ways to infuse my work with a touch of home, drawing upon the rich tapestry of Mexican culture for inspiration. By incorporating iconic symbols and elements from my ancestral background into my creative projects, I not only feel closer to my roots but also aim to share these cultural treasures with the people here in New Zealand. It’s a meaningful way for me to bridge the gap between two worlds and foster a deeper appreciation for the beauty and significance of Mexican heritage among those I interact with.
