Today, we’re not just unearthing another spectacular artist for the upcoming Ritual Artistic Encounters; we’re unraveling an entire art group, whose creations embody a confluence of culture, artistry, and the verdant echoes of Iranian gardens. Meet @iwin.charity.artists, a collective of 9 talented Iranian women artists, painting narratives of their homeland from the scenic landscapes of New Zealand.
Specializing in Block Print and multidisciplinary art forms, IWIN Art Group invites you to a sensory journey back to the Sagros mountains, the city of Isfahan – a land that’s not just geographically striking but steeped in cultural narratives, whispered through every brushstroke, every pattern.
This work that we are showing at Ritual Exhibition is made by 9 Iranian women artists living in
New Zealand inspired by Bakhtiari kheshti Rug mutifs.
The designs – named after the nomads of the Bakhtiari tribe, who live in the Sagros mountains near the city of Isfahan ( the city and mountains that I grew up in ) .
Our work is made with motifs inspired by gardens. The so-called Kheshti pattern features designs with plants and animals from nature.
IWIN art Group
Their showcase at Ritual Exhibition, is an intimate portrayal of the Bakhtiari Kheshti Rug motifs, an artwork where every design, every hue, narrates the silent but profound tales of the Bakhtiari tribe. Amidst the Sagros mountains, nature blooms as art, and the ‘Kheshti’ pattern, a garden of designs, plants, and animals, becomes a living, breathing narrative.
The artistry of IWIN Art Group is more than a visual spectacle. It’s an embrace of nature and culture, where Iranian gardens aren’t just observed but lived, where the Bakhtiari tribe’s silent tales find voice in the vibrant, intricate motifs of plants and animals.
We invite you to experience this sensory embrace, where art transcends visual boundaries to become a narrative, a connection, a dance of the Iranian spirit and nature’s unfettered beauty:
- Date: Saturday, 4th of November
- Venue: @upstairsart, a space where art lives and breathes
