The classical Japanese Noh Theatre has origins in ceremonies and rituals that enable spirits to appear in the human realm. This appearance is symbolised by the passage of a masked dancer, entering the stage along the hashigakari; the bridgeway from the spirit world.
This seminar will detail the experience of John Davies, his study of Noh Theatre, and the integration of its principles and perspectives into his own contemporary theatre practice.
