This a practical workshop focused on creating articulated cardboard masks.
The inspiration comes from the Latin American cultural heritage and its political and social relationship with the mask. From the Mexican lucha libre mask to the Capucha feminista in Chile, the mask and hood are icons of social renewal and identity.
This workshop aims to guide the participant in creating a mask that speaks of their cultural background and identity. From the design to the realisation of the project, Sur-Collective will make a step-by-step guide to create a mask from scratch, which can be used for ritual purposes or hung on the wall as an artistic piece.
