Join our Zaouli Mask Dance workshop for a fun, energetic experience! Sweat it out with vibrant footwork and expressive moves, all while also enjoying and learning traditional drums and exploring Guro culture.
The Zaouli mask dance is a traditional dance form originating from the Guro people of the Ivory Coast in West Africa. It’s performed by dancers wearing elaborately carved wooden masks depicting the face of a beautiful woman, called ” Djela Lou Zaouli.” The dance is characterised by its intricate footwork, rapid movements and expressive gestures, often accompanied by drumming and other traditional instruments.

6:30pm – 8pm – Drums CLASS
8 pm – 9:30pm – Dance CLASS
*Please arrive 15 minutes early
Please note that both days are required for this intensive dance / drum workshop.
The choreography and drum class builds on itself, so attending both days is crucial for mastering the routine.
